Carole Nataf is a London-based painter, who was born in France. She paints figurative oil paintings on canvas. As an avid plein air painter, she focuses on landscapes, still lives as well as portrait paintings.  Carole’s more recent work explores contemporary visual culture and the effects of social media, iphone photography and digital culture on representation. She also takes painting commissions.

Carole considers figurative painting an emotional and imaginative journey, not just an exercise in copying. Her work attempts to recreate perceptual impressions and visual effects by developing a coherent, personal language. It is the process of seeing itself, the experience of sight that she seeks to lay out on the canvas.
